Our Story
Founded by best friends Amanda Chedville and Kaitlyn Nesbit, Southern Standard Stables began as a passion project in 2023. After years of working together, the pair set out to create a barn of their own—one that reflected their shared values of support, inclusivity, and genuine care for both horses and riders. Their goal was to build a welcoming space where equestrians of all ages and experience levels could thrive.
Our Property
Our barn sits just off Lee Road, close to Covington, Mandeville, and Folsom, but far enough out to feel like a quiet escape. It’s a place where we can slow down—us, our horses, and the people who ride with us.
The property is home not just to horses, but to a mix of other animals too—dogs, chickens, ducks, and a peacock named Kevin who likes to make his presence known.
There’s a little vegetable garden full of various goodies and flowers, a pond the ducks love, and a hammock for anyone who needs a break.
